Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway’s Flash is finally on Netflix!

The first installment of Sunrise’s newest movie trilogy can now be accessed on the popular online streaming platform today.

Here's the Netflix’s synopsis: “After Char’s rebellion, Hathaway Noa leads an insurgency against Earth Federation, but meeting an enemy officer and a mysterious woman alters his fate.”

Fans can also choose between the English dub and Japanese version of the film.

Gundam Hathaway takes place 12 years after the second Neo-Zone War and is a follow-up to the 1988 film, Char’s Counterattack. The film is based on the series of novels written by Yoshiyuki Tomino back in the late ’80s up to the early ’90s. It is directed by Shukou Murase and the script was written by Yasuyuki Mutou, the same person who worked on Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn.

A good portion of Gundam Hathaway features a fictional and futuristic version of Davao City, which Filipino fans found very exciting since the film’s trailer was released months ago. From the familiar public wet markets, to the tropical scenery, beaches, and of course, the country’s beloved fast food chain, Jollibee, Gundam Hathaway’s production team has captured the simplicity of Filipino life perfectly.

Other Gundam films can be viewed on Netflix, especially the classic ones such as the original Mobile Suit Gundam I film, Mobile Suit Gundam II: Soldiers of Sorrow, and Mobile Suit Gundam III: Encounters in Space.
