Rachelle Ann Go, who is set to reprise her role in the Philippine production of Hamilton, admitted to having self-doubts about returning to acting after becoming a mother.

Talking to CNN, the Filipino Broadway star reflected on her role as Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton in the hit Broadway show, saying that she once had fears about doing justice for the role now that she is a mother of two.

“I literally just gave birth and I’m like ‘Can I still do this role? Can I still sing it?’” she said.

The actress also said that because of her “mama brain,” she might’ve forgotten all the acts that they did for the West End production of Hamilton and how she used to rehearse before.

“Hopefully when I go back to the stage, babalik na lahat 'yun. Cause it’s really hard to rehearse at home with two kids, it's kind of like such a busy household at the moment,” Rachelle said.

For now, the singer is reviewing her rehearsal notes from 2017 to prepare for the Philippine show.

Despite the challenges, the Filipina singer cherishes her family and being a mom.

"At the moment, I just really want to enjoy this season. Being a mom of two is a lot of work, especially in a country where I don't have family members here," she said.

Rachel also shared that she is both excited and nervous about making her musical comeback in the Philippines. Ultimately, the Hamilton star is thrilled because she has always wanted to bring the award-winning play to the Philippines.

“For some reason, I had this feeling na dadalhin ang Hamilton to the Philippines,” she said.

“I said ‘They’re going to bring the show to the Philippines and I’m going to play the role’ parang clinaim ko na talaga,” she added.

Rachelle originally played the role of Eliza in the West End production of the Broadway musical which opened in London in 2017 and ran through 2019.

Rachel shares two children with her husband Martin Spies: Lukas, born in 2021, and a daughter named Sela born last May 2023.

Hamilton begins on September 17 and runs through November 26 at The Theatre at Solaire
