Andrea Rubio of Venezuela was hailed the 2023 Miss International queen.

After months of preparation and a series of competitions, Venezuela’s Andrea emerged as the winner, besting 69 other beauty queens around the globe. She now takes over the reign from last year’s winner Jasmin Selberg of Germany.

From the preliminaries to the grand finals, Andrea’s natural charm and advocacy made her the clear winner for this year’s pageant.

Now that she is set to make her own mark as the new queen of the pageant, it’s time to get to know her better.

She is passionate about fashion and modeling

It is undeniable that Andrea is one of the queens who exuded charisma and strong stage presence—from her national costume to her dazzling evening gown—this is all thanks to her passion for modeling.

At the age of 20, she won in a Colombian modeling reality TV show La Agencia Batalla de Modelos. But she didn’t stop at merely modeling and being a brand ambassador, like the true queen that she is, she used this passion for a more meaningful purpose: Helping other women feel more confident about their own bodies.

The 24-year-old beauty queen-content creator launched a course dubbed The Magic of Poses and Content Creation—a bite-sized content on dos and don’ts in posing, photo concept ideas, and outfit inspirations which she shares via her YouTube channel and social media accounts.

As a creative, she also ventured into entrepreneurship and now manages swimwear apparel of her own named Swiri, which uses biodegradable corn bags as her way of taking care of the planet.

She is a strong advocate for women’s rights

Delving further to her purpose, Andrea has been bringing her advocacy for women’s rights and their progression.

During the Q&A portion, Andrea was asked about how she sees herself in terms of career advancement five years from now, to which she answered she envisions herself as an “independent woman” who empowers women.

“In five years, I see myself as an independent woman who works with her communication skills. Miss International is gonna allow me to get this platform and to show all women they can deserve what they dream,” she said.

Bringing with her journey to clinching the crown is the initiative, “I dream, I can” which seeks to make a significant change in the lives of little girls in the country. Through this project, she conducted educational workshops for girls ages 12 to 16 by encouraging them to have a life plan and to help them make assertive decisions in achieving their dreams.

She also launched a social media campaign #InLoveWithMyself to echo women's empowerment by serving as the platform for every woman to feel confident in loving as well as showing off themselves.

Other than modeling, dancing is also one of her interests

Outside modeling and pageantry, Andrea also sees dancing as an outlet to freely express herself. She is also up to date with other TikTok dances, nailing her fit and perfecting every beat.
