A new Miss Grand International queen has been crowned!

Luciana Fuster from Peru received the distinction of becoming Miss Grand International 2023 on Oct. 25 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

During the pageant's grand coronation night, Luciana outdid 68 other candidates to take over the reign of Miss Grand International 2022 Isabella Menin of Brazil. Second place went to Ni Ni Lin Eain of Myanmar, while third place went to María Alejandra López of Colombia.

It was clear from her stage presence to how she answered the nerve-wracking question-and-answer portion that she was truly deserving of the coveted crown.

Let's get to know more about the newly crowned Miss Grand International:

A reality and internet star

The Miss Grand International pageant is not Luciana's first exposure to television as she first rose to prominence after competing in several reality shows in her country, such as Combate and Esto es guerra. Afterward, she also tried her hand at becoming a radio host when she joined the radio program Onda expansiva.

But television is not the only realm she found success in. She also prospered as an influencer on Instagram, focused on promoting her image for clothing brands, beauty advice, and helping social causes.

Luciana also achieved the title of being the most-followed Peruvian woman on the platform with 4.6 million followers.

Beautiful and confident with a heart
Grand TV

To quote Miss Universe 2015 titleholder Pia Wurtzbach's words, "Confidently beautiful with a heart"—that's exactly what Luciana showcased when she spoke about the pressing conflict between Israel and the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas.

During the pageant's Q&A portion, Fuster was asked which leader she would speak to about the Israel-Hamas war and what would she say to them to improve the situation.

"I would talk to Israel's president and ask him to take care of all his nation because no one deserves to live in hurt," she answered.

She continued, "There are lots dying day by day, and all the news [is] horrible, so if we don't change our minds, if we don't change our comportment, we can never be a good society. We can never be a great society."

Prior to this, she also raised her voice on the issue and called for both sides to find peace.

"I am here to raise my voice for the communities in both sides, hoping that their governments can find common ground on peaceful conversations. War only destroys homes and takes innocent lives. Violence is never the solution to a war that is in need of more compassion, love and empathy," she stressed.

A travel junkie and a loving girlfriend

The 24-year-old beauty queen is also a loving partner to model Patricio Parodi Costa, and she frequently posts on her Instagram their sweet moments and travel dates together.

The couple have traveled to some of the most romantic places in the world, including Venice, Italy; the Eiffel Tower in Paris; the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt; and the Colosseum in Rome.

The two of them met when they participated in the reality show Esto es guerra, and they eventually fostered romantic feelings for each other when they they were selected to host the radio program El Búnker together.
