Demi Lovato, Idina Menzel are no longer managed by Scooter Braun
After almost four years of working together, Let It Go singers Idina Menzel and Demi Lovato have decided to part ways with their music manager, Scooter Braun.
An Aug. 22 Billboard report said that Demi has left Scooter's management SB Projects, which has helped release her albums Dancing with the Devil… the Art of Starting Over (2021), Holy Fvck (2022), and the upcoming REVAMPED album that's due to come out this September.
A source also told the publication that "it was time" for Demi to choose a new path. Despite this, the former Disney star is still thankful for her time with the company.
Following the news about Demi, The Hollywood Reporter found out through a source close to Idina that the Broadway singer and actress has left Scooter's management in January. Her representative has yet to comment on the issue.
Before all this, rumors also circulated late last week, saying Justin Bieber and Scooter, his longtime manager, "haven't talked in months" and that lawyers are involved. Billboard and People also reported that Ariana Grande has left SB Projects as well.
However, it was eventually denied by a source to TMZ telling that "all of Scooter's clients, including Justin and Ariana, are still under contract with his company, SB Projects."
A source also told NBC News that all of the Scooter's clients are under contract and negotiations have been going on for several months as he will step into a "larger role" as the CEO of HYBE America, the South Korean entertainment corporation behind K-pop megastars BTS.
"People are spreading rumors based on what they know, but they are off," the source said adding that there is no bad blood between Scooter and clients.
With all the drama surrounding his talents, Scooter joked about the situation on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Breaking news… I’m no longer managing myself.”

Among Scooter's other clients are Tori Kelly, Black Eyed Peas, and country music duo Dan + Shay. He formerly represented Kanye West, now Ye, off and on.
In 2019, Scooter was embroiled in a public feud with Taylor Swift after the former's company Ithica Holdings acquired the latter's longtime label, Big Machine Records. As a result, Scooter gained ownership of the master recordings for Taylor's first six studio albums.
Taylor called the deal a nightmare and accused Scooter of "manipulative bullying" in a statement and announced her plans to re-record all her old records released between 2006 to 2017.
She already released Taylor’s Version re-records of Red, Fearless, and Speak Now, with 1989 (Taylor’s Version) coming in October.
In an interview with NPR’s Jay Williams last year, Scooter said that the controversy was a “learning lesson.”
“The regret I have there is that I made the assumption that everyone, once the deal was done, was going to have a conversation with me, see my intent, see my character, and say, great, let’s be in business together,” he said.
