Rommel Padilla has warned the public about a fake post quoting him as defending his son, Daniel Padilla, for his alleged cheating and “attacking” Kathryn Bernardo.

The former actor posted a screenshot showing a fake quote card created by a social media page through his Facebook page on Tuesday, April 16.

The said Facebook post showed a screenshot of Rommel’s fake X (formerly Twitter) post, where he is defending Daniel’s cheating, as well as “attacking” Kathryn saying that she should credit his son for her success, as well as for not understanding that many women would be with him given his looks.

“Puro kayo panghuhusga kay Daniel na cheater siya, akala niyo naman ang lilinis niyo! Ikaw Kathryn, kung hindi dahil kay Daniel wala ka sa kinatatayuan mo ngayon! Alam mong gwapo ‘yung anak ko, dapat expected mo na hindi lang ikaw ang babae niyan,” a part of the fake X post read.

Rommel disproved the said post, “FAKE NEWS! Wag po Paniwalaan at ikalat. Ito po ay may pananagutan sa Batas,” he wrote in his caption.

He reiterated and informed the public that the post was not true in a new social media card, seemingly released by his brother Robin Padilla’s office.

Kathryn and Daniel debuted as the love team KathNiel in 2011 for the teleserye Growing Up and have since starred in more shows and movies. They confirmed their romance in 2018.

But as 2023 was ending, there were rumors that their relationship was on the rocks, with most of them speculating Daniel’s cheating that involved actresses Andrea Brillantes, Gillian Vicencio, and Vietnamese Minh Phuong, a.k.a Emma—who denied the accusations.

On Nov. 30 of that year, Padilla and Bernardo made separate announcements about the end of their relationship after 11 years

Even after their split, however, the former couple has been spotted together in various events, including the ABS-CBN Christmas Special and Asia Artist Awards last year. They were also present at Robi Domingo and Maiqui Pineda’s wedding in January and Ria-Zanjoe's wedding in March.
