Vietnamese woman denies alleged affair with Daniel Padilla, asks fans to 'maintain dignity and respect'

Minh Phuong of Vietnam speaks up about her alleged involvement with Daniel Padilla, saying that they only met once in 2023.

Phuong, also known as Emma, addressed the issue in a lengthy Instagram post on Monday, Jan. 15, revealing that she had received a lot of messages from the actor since last year.

“It is known that Daniel visited Vietnam last year with his friends. Prior to his visit [to] my country, I have never met him,” she wrote. In the carousel post, she included screenshots and screen records of X posts of messages she received from fans speculating that she is involved with Padilla.

“My brother (anh: kuya) owns the bar that Daniel went to. My brother told me that Daniel is there and I can say Hi to him because I know he is a famous actor. I saw Daniel and his friends in the bar, exchanged a few words, and then I went back home with my sister. That is the end of my interaction with him,” she continued.

Emma went on to appeal to fans to be “civilized and polite,” especially since the latter has threatened her life and job.

“I know you guys love and appreciate your idol. I also feel the same to the artists I support, but please be civilized and polite. Please be a cultured person. You guys have threatened my life and my job, sent messages and spammed my family and friends,” she lamented. “This is something I would not wish to happen to anyone.”

“A lot of you guys think that I am someone important, but I want to ask the question: are you accusing me with no proof and all speculations? To be clear, I do not know who Johnnymoonlightz is, and I do not care who he is either,” she added.

“I am a common Vietnamese citizen. I work, hang out with my friends, meet people, and live my life normally. I hope you maintain dignity and respect when coming to my social media, and please do not act without thinking,” Emma concluded her post.

Filipino fans seem to not believe her statement, pointing out her past interactions on Padilla’s social media page.

“[You] COMMENTED ON SUPREMODP's post 'Cheers' AND THEN NOW YOULL TELL US YOU DONT KNOW HIM? HSSJEJKSAKKAAKAHAHGAGA WHAT THE FREAK,” an Instagram user commented.

“[Don't] know him but following his main account& finsta, WHAT A JOKE,” another user commented.

Others speculate that it’s a curated post from Padilla’s camp.

Kathryn and Daniel confirmed their breakup last Nov. 30 after an 11-year romance.

Even after their split, however, the former couple has been spotted together in various events, including the ABS-CBN Christmas Special and Asia Artist Awards last year as well as Robi Domingo and Maiqui Pineda’s wedding earlier this month.

KathNiel made their debut as a love team on the teen series Growing Up in 2010. It was followed by numerous projects such as Princess and I (2012), Got to Believe (2013), She’s Dating the Gangster (2014), Pangako Sa’yo (2015), Crazy Beautiful You (2015), Barcelona: A Love Untold (2016), La Luna Sangre (2017), and The Hows of Us (2018).

Their onscreen romance eventually blossomed off-screen, with the two finally confirming their years-long relationship in 2018.
