Kris Bernal says being a mom is her 'favorite era': 'My to-do list is always full but so is my heart'

First-time mom Kris Bernal considers motherhood her "favorite era."

The actress reflected on her most important role in life, which is being a mama to Hailee Luca, her first child with her husband Perry Choi.

"I never knew how much love my heart can hold until you made me a mama, [Hailee Luca]," she began.

"Being a mama is my favorite era," she continued. While it can be "strange" and "overwhelming," she said she remains grateful for everything that comes with it.

"My to-do list is always full but so is my heart. I'm always on the verge of a meltdown but I'd be lost without her. My days feel long but they also go by in the blink of an eye. I sometimes feel suffocated by motherhood but I also found my purpose. I feel so many emotions in one day," she mused.

Kris went on to describe parenting as one that gives her the "most challenging" and "most rewarding" days of her life. "From the sleepless nights to the endless worries, I carry the weight of my little one's world on my shoulder[s]."

The local star emphasized that she makes mistakes and tends to lose her cool and "go a little crazy" at times. "But it's okay because in the end, no one could ever love my child the way I do," she said.

"And, at the end of every day, no matter how exhausted, burnt out, overwhelmed, and behind I am with the world, I just do it. Because I'm a mother. I wouldn't want it any other way," she added.

Kris welcomed her first child with Perry last Aug. 15.

She announced her pregnancy in March via a movie-themed maternity shoot titled When Two Become Three.

She got engaged to Perry in February 2020. They tied the knot in September 2021.
