Kathleen Hermosa reveals she suffered another miscarriage: 'We will never give up trying'

Kathleen Hermosa revealed she had another pregnancy loss, months after losing her triplets in November 2023.

The former actress-content creator shared her painful journey in a four-part vlog, saying she was diagnosed with congenital thrombophilia.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, it is a blood disorder that “makes the blood in your veins and arteries more likely to clot.”

Another cause of miscarriage was also the antiphospholipid (APS) syndrome, an autoimmune disease where “the immune system mistakenly creates antibodies that attack tissues in the body” which can cause blood clots in arteries and veins, as per the Mayo Clinic

“Tumigil ‘yung heartbeat. May heartbeat na nung una. Lumaki din ‘yung baby—lumaki na siya, may limbs na, so nagform pero tumigil,” Kathleen told her sister Kristine Hermosa while on video call. “Ang ibig sabihin nung congenital thrombophilia, humihinto ang supply ng dugo ng mommy papunta sa fetus.”

In the vlogs, Kathleen is seen crying whenever they look back on what happened, expressing how confused she was about what went wrong.

“I really couldn't imagine ano ba talaga ang purpose mo, God, sa amin, sa buhay namin. Things kept replaying in my head. Hindi ko talaga maintindihan saan ako nagkamali, may nagawa ba ako, kami ni Miko na hindi nakahonor kay God? Na-disappoint ba namin siya?” she lamented.

A week after she learned they lost their child, she shared her journey of naturally taking out the baby. She noted how the process was even more painful compared to when they lost their triplets in November.

After the incident, Kathleen and her family took a beach trip to Camotes Island with her non-showbiz husband Miko Santos, her sister Kristine, and in-laws.

“For most part, I know there is more to this. We have a son. His name is Guian. [I'm] blessed to have him. My stepson needs us and I think God wants us or I for that matter, to fix my relationship with him,” she wrote in the video description of the vlog.

“I am grateful for realizations. I am also not afraid if it is for bringing people together for God’s glory, [I’m] all for it,” she added.

Despite the heartbreaking incident, Kathleen expressed at the end of the vlog that she is hopeful to receive another blessing again in the future.

“If you’re gonna ask me if I’m gonna conceive again, we will never give up trying. Alam ko God has great plans for us and we will continue to surrender.”

Prior to this, Kathleen and Miko lost their triplets due to a blighted ovum, otherwise known as an anembryonic pregnancy.

The two got married in June 2023 in an intimate garden wedding in Cebu.
