Kris Bernal donates breast milk to mom diagnosed with breast cancer

Kris Bernal is saving lives one milk bottle at a time.

On her Instagram account, the actress shared that she has been donating her breast milk to mothers who need it, and one of the women she is lending a helping hand to was diagnosed with breast cancer.

"POV: A mom who collects every single drop of milk possible just to find her baby refuses it thawed and exclusively wants it always fresh. So, she just donates them!" Bernal captioned the video that showed her collecting and storing her excess breast milk.

Despite producing too much breast milk, the first-time mom highlighted that she feels thankful for her condition as this gives her a chance to help mothers who are not able to produce their own.

"I haven’t talked about it but God truly blessed me with an oversupply. And, He even blessed me more by how I am able to donate to precious NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) babies or preemies and other moms who haven’t been able to do the same," Bernal wrote.

The NICU is an area in a hospital where babies who were born early, have health problems or have gone through a difficult birth are sent to get better care from a team of experts.

One of Bernal's regular recipients of her breastmilk is Liza Ibarle, a breast cancer patient who had undergone mastectomy surgery during her pregnancy.

"Due to her chemotherapies, she cannot breastfeed. Her strong, healthy, normal miracle baby is named after the patron of people with cancer, Saint Ezekiel Moreno," she wrote.

She ended her post with a simple, but inspiring message: "I believe not all superheroes wear capes. I make milk, I save lives. It’s my superpower."
