Mark Zuckerberg, who's 'ready today,' says Elon Musk 'hasn't confirmed' to Aug. 26 cage match
Mark Zuckerberg, the chief executive officer of Meta which owns and operates Facebook, on Aug. 7 said he's "ready today" for his proposed cage match against Elon Musk, the one in charge of X (formerly Twitter).
In an Aug. 7 post on Meta's newest platform Threads, Zuckerberg said he suggested Aug. 26 to Musk, though the latter "hasn't confirmed" yet.
"Not holding my breath," he said, as he included a screenshot of Musk's Aug. 6 tweet saying he's lifting weights "throughout the day, preparing for the fight."

In another tweet, Musk said the fight will be live-streamed on X, and all proceeds will go to charity for veterans.
But Zuckerberg in another Threads post took a swipe at Musk, saying they should “use a more reliable platform that can actually raise money for charity.” Facebook and Instagram have a fundraising feature while X doesn't.
The Meta boss also described the planned livestream on X as "More like 'funding secured'" in a reply to a Threads user commenting on the fight.
In a reply to his original Thread entry, Zuckerberg said he loves the sport and "will continue competing with people who train no matter what happens here."
Talks about the cage match began in June, when Musk was replying to an X user who noted that Zuckerberg practices jiu-jitsu. The remark came amid news of the launching of X's rival platform Threads.
"I'm up for a cage match if he is lol," Musk said of Zuckerberg.
But Zuckerberg caught wind of Musk's reply and in an Instagram Story shared Musk's tweet with a superimposed text saying, "Send Me Location."
Musk, 52, is reportedly 6'1" tall, while Zuckerberg, 39, is 5'8". The former reportedly weighs 187lbs (84kg) and the latter 155lbs (70kg).
Musk, in a reply to an X user talking about the fight, said he will "probably win" if the fight is short.
"If long, he may win on endurance," Musk said of Zuckerberg. "I am much bigger and there is a reason MMA has weight divisions."
