A helping hand at the beginning of life

The Department of Health recently reported that the number of dengue cases during the first quarter of 2023 rose to an alarming number of 31,459, which is 73 percent greater than 2022. Likewise, typhoid cases in the country during the first quarter of 2023 increased by 89 percent.

And so, Pru Life UK embarked on a heartwarming journey to underserved and underserved communities in Metro Manila and select provinces to provide free protection and PRU Love to the most precious beginnings of life—babies.

A program fueled by the company’s commitment to be the trusted partner and protector of Filipinos and their families, Pru Life UK introduced the PRUBabies program to lend a helping hand to parents of 175,000 infants.

Through the free six-month coverage of PRUMedCare - Select Infectious Diseases insurance plan, parents can find solace in knowing that they’ll receive essential financial support in the event of their babies are diagnosed with any of the four common infectious diseases: dengue, typhoid, measles, and malaria.

Pru Life UK extends PRUBabies initiatives to protect newborns in underserved communities.

The first leg of Pru Life UK’s journey was held in Bantayan Island, Cebu as part of Prudence Foundation’s partnership with Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST) for Project Padayon Bantayan Island.

The project is part of the Pru Life UK’s continuing community development support in uplifting the lives of the island’s residents through a range of educational and livelihood programs to bring positive change to their everyday lives.

Pru Life UK, through the PRUBabies initiative, has been transforming the lives of Filipinos through organizations including Grace to be Born Shelter in Pasig, Tulay sa Pag-unlad Inc. in Makati, St. Scholastica’s Formation House in Tagaytay, First Gen in Batangas, Philippine Medical Association in Calamba, Laguna, Manila City Health Department, Mandaluyong Medical Center and the local government unit of Taytay, Palawan.

With the alarming increase in the number of dengue and typhoid cases in the country, Pru Life UK’s PRUBabies initiative is a strong testament of PRU Love, helping make life insurance more accessible to many more Filipino families.
