Who is Jenny Ramp, Miss Philippines Earth 2022?

Jenny Ramp of Santa Ignacia, Tarlac was named Miss Philippines Earth 2022 on Aug. 6, becoming the country's delegate to the international pageant that advocates for environmental awareness, conservation, and social responsibility.

Ramp bested 37 others during the coronation day in Coron, Palawan, inheriting the crown from Naelah Alshorbaji, who, in turn, finished Top 8 during last year's Miss Earth.

Who is Jenny Ramp?

Ramp's Facebook page states that she's a Filipino-American.

According to her Miss Philippines Earth bio, she's 19 years old and is a BS Psychology student. She's 5 feet and 7 inches tall, with a vital statistics of 34-26-35 inches.

She grew up in the United States alongside her parents as an only child.

"Every summer we would visit my mother's family in the Philippines until we decided to finally move here for good," her Miss Philippines Earth entry read, adding that moving to the Philippines proved to be difficult.

"However, I was able to empower myself through modeling and working with all kinds of people while discovering who I am as a person," she said.

Her trappings of becoming Miss Philippines Earth manifested when she's a young girl. She told the organization that she's recycling "whatever" she could find in the house, as well as turning off the lights and unplugging things.

As Miss Philippines Earth, Ramp said her advocacy is to educate everyone about ecological sustainability, especially the youth and the marginalized sector. For her, keeping the world clean is vital to survival, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The pandemic made us realize that the earth really needed to breathe," she said, "and now that life is slowly becoming how it was before the pandemic era, we should not forget to also take care of our home, the Earth."

Ramp urged the public to support and encourage outdoor activities, practicing a "clean as you go" mindset that would also rub off on others, especially tourists. She also wants to do more tree planting for the next generation.

For her Miss Philippines Earth photoshoot, she's pushing for agriculture, noting that it's in the country's DNA. She pointed out that farming is the "profession of hope."

"This photoshoot is dedicated to all the farmers in the country who were not been given the much-deserved attention and support by the government," Ramp wrote in the caption. "As our country moves forward with a new leadership focused on Agriculture, may we reap a harvest of an abundant future while helping Mother Earth recover from years of neglect."

The Miss Earth Philippines 2022 finals were held on Saturday, Aug. 6 in Coron, Palawan.

Ramp was followed by Jimema Tempra (Miss Philippines Air 2022), Angel Santos (Miss Philippines Water 2022), Eryka Vina Talavera Tan (Miss Philippines Fire 2022), and Nice Lampad (Miss Philippines Eco Tourism 2022).

The MPE pageant will air on Sunday, Aug. 7 on A2Z at 10:00 a.m.
