Carrie Fisher will finally have a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

It’s high time for Princess Leia to have her star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.

That’s right, the iconic Carrie Fisher will finally have her name plastered on the famous Hollywood walkway along with other notable actors and actresses, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce—the awarding organization of the Walk of Fame—announced yesterday.

Although she won’t be present to witness a remarkable milestone in her career, it would be a nice treat for fans to see her Star Wars co-stars, especially her “space-family” Mark Hamill and her daughter Billie Lourd, attend and speak during the induction ceremony.

However, The Hollywood Walk of Fame has yet to announce dates for the induction ceremonies for each new honoree. Hopefully, Fisher is one of the first stars to receive hers.

Fisher, who passed away in 2016, isn’t the only beloved Hollywood name to be included in the Walk of Fame's Class of 2022. Accompanying her is fellow Star Wars actor, Ewan McGreggor aka Obi Wan Kenobi. Among the other significant stars are Aquaman’s Jason Momoa, Thor Ragnarok's Tessa Thompson, Black Panther’s Michael B. Jordan, Macaulay Culkin, Salma Hayek, and Willem Dafoe.

Pop rap group, the Black Eyed Peas, also earned their spot in the Recording category along with Avril Lavigne and DJ Khaled.

"The Panel did an amazing job choosing these very talented people. We can't wait to see each honoree's reaction as they realize that they are becoming a part of Hollywood's history with the unveiling of their star on the world's most famous walkway!" Chair and Walk of Famer Ellen K said in a statement.
