Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, a first-of-its-kind immersive experience, is all set to take fans on a voyage to a galaxy far, far away starting Tuesday, March 1, 2022.

After years of construction and development, Walt Disney World has finally brought the fantasy on the big screen to reality. Disney shared more behind the scenes snippets of the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel located inside Walt Disney World, in Florida, USA in new videos leading up to the theme park’s launch this week.

On its website, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is described as “part live immersive theater, part themed environment, part culinary extravaganza, part real-life role-playing game—and yet so much more.”

“This is the next level in immersive storytelling, everything in the immersive field that we’ve been dreaming of. It’s about how we change the way people play together, how we change, the way stories are told together. It’s how we are a part of something and in immersive theater,” said Mikhael Tara Garver, director of immersive experiences in a new Disney Park's video released Thursday (Feb. 24).

“We’ve spent a lot of time figuring out how story can not just be one story, but many stories and then also integrating the technology and integrating the game,” she added.

Guests have the ability to choose their own adventure during the two-night Star Wars voyage, including exciting and exclusive activities, missions, character encounters and adventures that go beyond any ordinary vacation experience.

“We took what was basically quick hits that happens over in Black Spire, things that happen between like 30 seconds or two minutes, and now you’re going to do that for two days,” explained Creative Director Cory Rouse from Walt Disney Imagineering.

In honor of Star Wars Day 2021, Disney previously teased actual working lightsabers as part of the immersive experience.

The vacation includes various themed activities that both kids and adults can enjoy. A sample itinerary shows a thrilling line up, from mastering the basics of wielding a lightsaber during the Lightsaber Training, droid racing competitions, learning how to control and navigate the Halcyon starcruiser, embarking a Planet Excursion to Batuu, and loads more.

The unique staycation also includes food and beverages in themed restaurants featuring dishes inspired by the galaxy, interactive technology and games, and more to create a wholly immersive experience in which guests get to create their own story.

To make the experience even more immersive, guests are encouraged to dress for the part in authentic Star Wars costumes available from shopDisney or on the ship.

Don’t expect the unique staycation to come cheap though. Guests will be spending at least P242,000 per head to be able to embark on this journey based on the type of room, number of guests, and date of stay.

Prices start at $4,809 for two guests per cabin or $5,999 for four guests in a cabin. The Standard Cabin starts at $4,809 (P242,421) for two passengers, and can go up to $5,299 (P267,122) for the same room if you're bringing a kid, and $5,999 (P302,409) if you're including a third adult and a kid.

The Starcruiser has over 100 cabins and suites, each one "radiating an atmosphere of elegance, style, comfort and exclusivity." Guests can either choose from the Standard Cabin, Galaxy Class Suite, or the Grand Captain Suite.

Walt Disney Imagineering developed Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser at the same time, intending for them to complement not only each other, but the broader place in Star Wars history in which they’re set.

Collaborating with Lucasfilm, they created the Halcyon starcruiser, the setting for this new two-night immersive adventure that takes us deeper into the tales of that galaxy far, far away.

The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser officially launches on March 1, 2022 at Walt Disney World Resort.
