Prepare to meet the most fabulous Spider-Man yet.

Marvel Comics has announced in its multiverse-hopping Edge of Spider-Verse #5, it will be introducing thee new incarnations of the friendly neighborhood hero, including the first gay Spider-Man called Web-Weaver.

Web-Weaver is described by Marvel as a "not-so-mild mannered fashion designer at Van Dyne" who gets "spider powers and shows us a different kind of Spider-Slayer."

His costume has been teased by artist Kris Anka, which shows the hero in a stylish black, white, and gold outfit with a high collar and draping coat sleeves.

The artist said the costume is inspired by fashion designers Alexander McQueen and Thierry Mugler.

After the announcement, writer Steve Foxe talked about the pressure of creating a gay Spider-Man.

"Something I realized immediately when conceiving Web-Weaver is that he can't—and shouldn't—represent ALL gay men. No single character can. His fearlessly femme identity is central to who he is, but it's not the STORY... which you can experience for yourself in September," he said in a tweet.

In addition to Web-Weaver, the new issue will introduce Hunter-Spider, Night-Spider (Felicia Hardy), and Spider-Laird. Edge of Spider-Verse arrives on September 28.
