After exploring television and film, a work of Stephen King will take a new storytelling approach with a podcast series based on Strawberry Spring from his 1978 collection of short stories, Night Shift.

The new scripted podcast will be written and directed by Lee Metzger starring Garrett Hedlund, Milo Ventimiglia, Herizen Gaurdiola, Sydney Sweeney, Ken Marino, and Al Madrigal. Philip Alberstat is set to produce.

“As a lifelong fan of Stephen King, I couldn’t be more excited to work with Jared (Gutstadt, chief executive producer of Audio Up Media), Audio Up, and iHeart Media to bring this story to life. I couldn’t ask for a better project for my first scripted podcast,” Metzger said in a press release.

Strawberry Spring follows a journalist who is determined to hunt for a serial killer named "Springheel Jack" who strikes during “Strawberry Spring.”

Another adaptation from Night Shift will be released this Aug. 22, a television series on Epix called Chapelwaite, based on King’s Jerusalem’s Lot. King will also be releasing a new novel, Billy Summers, on Aug 3.

The eight-episode podcast series is expected to premiere later this summer.
