Netflix continues to build up its gaming library with more mobile games free for subscribers to play with no ads, no extra fees and no in-app purchases.

Three of the four new games added Tuesday (May 24) include Dragon Up (East Side Games), Moonlighter (11 Bit Studios), Townsmen - A Kingdom Rebuilt (HandyGames). Exploding Kittens - The Game (Exploding Kittens Digital) is set to arrive on Tuesday, May 31.

Counting the four new additions, Netflix now has 22 games to date as of May 2022 in various genres including RPGs, puzzle, arcade, strategy, sports and racing.

Netflix subscribers can download games through the Netflix mobile app on the day of release. To find these games:

  • Android mobile users will see a dedicated games row and a games tab where you can select any game to download.
  • iOS mobile users will see a dedicated games row where you can select any game to download.
  • Tablet users on iOS and Android devices will see a dedicated games row.  Members can also select games from the categories drop down menu to download and play.

Here’s a look at Netflix’s newest game offerings.

Dragon Up

Dragon Up is an idle adventure single-player collection game from East Side Games that takes inspiration from Scandinavian Design and Illustrations. The colorful animated game was recently removed from the Play Store and is now available as a premium release for Netflix subscribers.

The mission is to hatch and collect rare dragons and help them revive their magic. Save the kingdom by discovering each dragon's unique design, personality and rewards. Expand your idle kingdom by unlocking more lands and exotic habitats. Upgrade your dragons and nests, and they'll produce more coins. Collect cards and magic potions, then level up your favorite dragons to increase their abilities. The best way to make money is to eat money so feed gold to your pet dragon Billy to unlock amazing treasures, new dragons, and new nests.

Moonlighter

Moonlighter is an action RPG with rogue-lite elements that follows the everyday routines of Will, an adventurous shopkeeper that dreams of becoming a hero.

This is a mobile version of the 2018 game developed by the Spanish indie studio Digital Sun and published by Poland-based 11 Bit Studios.

By day, you manage a shop in an idyllic village. By night, you must explore dungeons, slay monsters and unlock mysteries in this best-of-both-worlds RPG adventure.

During the day, you're your own boss. Put items on sale, set their prices carefully, manage gold reserves, recruit assistants and work toward shop upgrades. Get to know fellow villagers as you help establish new businesses, craft new armor and weapons, and use existing equipment to level up your abilities. But beware: some shady individuals may want to steal your precious offerings.

Townsmen - A Kingdom Rebuilt

Townsmen from Handy Games is a strategy game that's been available free on Android for over a decade, but Netflix's re-release removes all in-app purchases and ads, and adds new maps, scenery, and skins.

The mobile version of the acclaimed strategy game from Germany lets gamers reign supreme.

You start with a small village and build your way up to a massive medieval metropolis. A crisp and colorful land awaits you and your settlers, who need food, protection, and fun! Send forth your builders to construct a city of your own design. Manage workers to cut wood and to mine valuable ore. But keep an eye on the weather, disease and disasters. And don't forget to keep those tax coins rolling in. Seasons will impact the demand for certain goods like extra water for summer and more clothes in winter.

Exploding Kittens - The Game

Last April, Netflix announced that an exclusive version of Exploding Kittens – The Game based on the popular tabletop card game was coming ahead of an adult animated comedy series  starring Lucifer actor Tom Ellis coming in 2023.

Bring the catnip and play with up to five friends in this single or multiplayer game featuring original art by comic creator The Oatmeal. Draw as many cards as you can, and do your best to dodge—or defuse—fatal felines. Or else, boom goes the dynamite!

In this kitty-powered game of chance, players draw cards until someone draws an exploding kitten and blows up.

Netflix members will be able to play with two new exclusive cards, Radar and Flip Flop, enabling players to manipulate the deck in new ways.

Radar reveals to players the position of the Exploding Kitten closest to the top of the card deck and Flip Flop reverses the order of the cards in the deck.

According to Netflix, future versions of Exploding Kittens - The Game will have an exclusive expansion pack of cards that will be themed around the upcoming Netflix series so viewers can play with their favorite characters and bring the show to life.
