Mark your calendars, film fans! The Oscars are streaming on Disney+ this March 11

Looking forward to this year's Oscars? Filipino film fans will be able to watch the awards show as Disney+ will be streaming the 96th Academy Awards on March 11.

ICYDK, the 2024 Oscars will be happening on March 10 (March 11 in Philippine time) at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, California to honor the best films of the past year.

Jimmy Kimmel will be hosting the show for the fourth time after previously thinking he would never do it again. As he told the Los Angeles Times, it was films that people had seen like Top Gun: Maverick that made him change his mind.

"Then this year, I am sitting in a movie theater watching Barbie and thinking, 'Well maybe I'll do this again, because at least I have a point of reference with everyone," he said.

"Barbenheimer" received the most nominations for the night, Barbie with eight and Oppenheimer with 13. In addition to the two films, other movies vying for the Best Picture award include American Picture, Anatomy of a Fall, The Holdovers, Killers of the Flower Moon, Maestro, Past Lives, Poor Things, and The Zone of Interest.

Other notable names nominated in different categories include Bradley Cooper, Colman Domingo, Cillian Murphy, Lily Gladstone, Emma Stone, Robert De Niro, Robert Downey Jr., Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt, America Ferrera, and Jodie Foster.

Barbie director Greta Gerwig and star Margot Robbie were snubbed in the best director and best actress categories.

The Oscars pre-show red carpet will begin streaming at 6:30 a.m. while the ceremonies start at 7:00 a.m. The replay of the show will be available on Disney+ immediately after the livestream.
