Sofia Richie expecting first child with husband Elliot Grainge
Sofia Richie is pregnant!
The American social media personality and model confirmed she and her husband, music executive Elliot Grainge are going to be parents to a baby girl in an interview with Vogue.
"I found out very, very early," she recalled with the media publication. "I was about four weeks pregnant. I was on a trip to Milan for Fashion Week, and I was going to the Prada show. I was doing a really quick 24-hour turnaround, and I felt terrible but didn’t think much of it. I thought it was jet lag."
The 25-year-old decided to take a pregnancy test when she noticed she was a few days late on her period. "I was taking one of those really crappy at-home tests, and there was the faintest of lines. I was so used to seeing negatives that I knew when something looked even kind of different," she said, sharing that she and her husband had been casually trying for a baby since they tied the knot in April.
She took three other pregnancy tests just to be sure, and they all turned out to be positive. "[Elliot] was so excited, and we both cried. It was crazy and overwhelming and so hard not to scream it from the rooftops. But knowing I was so early, I was so protective—even with my friends.”
The socialite said that her baby "is growing up pretty fast, so [the due date] is a bit up in the air."
Sofia is the daughter of veteran singer Lionel Richie and the sister of TV personality Nicole Richie.
She confirmed her romance with Elliot in 2021. They got engaged in April 2022.
The couple tied the knot a year later at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France.
