Here’s something to look forward to, EXO-Ls! Chanyeol has expressed his desire to release his first solo album soon.

In a press conference held on Saturday, Dec. 16 ahead of his fan meeting, the Cherry Prince shared more about his fashion style, his connection with Filo EXO-Ls, as well as his future endeavors in his music career.

“I actually have done a lot of projects and I actually have different projects in the future as well, but I think I haven’t shown myself as a solo artist a lot so I would like to release a solo album if I could," said Chanyeol.

Chanyeol talks about his career and Filo EXO-Ls during the press conference on Dec. 16.

The K-pop idol has been showcasing his talent alongside Sehun under EXO’s sub-unit, EXO-SC. Apart from this, he had also taken solo acting projects, starring in film and series Memories of the Alhambra and The Box; and released singles, including SSFW and Tomorrow.

Delving more into his music, PhilSTAR L!fe asked the 31-year-old K-pop star how he wants his music to connect with his fans. For him, he aims to create music that “will give energy and hope” to fans, as well as something that they can easily sing with and enjoy, just like his recently released single Good Enough.

“The inspiration for me to write the lyrics Good Enough was [by] observing people,” he said, adding that he takes inspiration from people around him, as well as from those he meets when he visits different places.

Chanyeol has visited the country three times this year alone. He first visited in May during his EXO-SC's “Back to Back" show and returned in October for a solo fan meet organized by a local cosmetics brand. This time, he went back for another solo fan meeting mounted by Penshoppe.

The Korean star said that he looks forward to seeing his fans whenever he is in the Philippines.

“Of course, the thing that makes me excited to come back here is the EXO-Ls. They make me very happy whenever I visit here,” he said, describing Filo EXO-ls as “very passionate and energetic,” recalling the time he got surprised when fans sang along almost every song during his concert with Sehun.

“Whenever I perform in front of you, it’s not like I’m just showcasing [myself] to you but I’m actually enjoying the moment with you guys,” he said, adding, “Whenever I actually feel that, I’d like to come back here more often and enjoy more time with you guys.”

Chanyeol debuted as a K-pop idol under boy group EXO in 2012. Apart from his solo projects, he is also busy with group activities. They released their seventh album in July this year dubbed Exist, their comeback album after over two years.
