Kris Aquino calls Mark Leviste a ‘blessing’ for being with her in her health journey

Kris Aquino says Mark Leviste has been a “blessing” for being with her in her battle with several autoimmune diseases.

In the comment section of her April 15 post on Instagram, the Queen of All Media expressed her appreciation for her “best male friend” and called him a “blessing” for being by her side as he fulfills his duties as the vice governor of Batangas.

“You’ve been a blessing to be with me/us every step of the way since my birthday because you’ve seen the deep bone pain I endure, the hives and bruises that multiply when exposed to the wrong environment, and you worry together with Bimb, my team, and the rest of my adoptive Houston, OC, and LA families when my BP (blood pressure) starts rising and hits a triple whammy with the systolic at 150+, the diastolic at 105+, and my heart rate hitting 100, too,” she began.

“Your willingness to be here to see me through these difficult tests and nonstop doctors’ appointments has made me even more grateful to have gotten to know the real you better,” she told Mark, adding that a lot of the photos in her recent health update were taken by the politician.

The multimedia personality also told Batangueños she will make sure that Mark’s focus will be on his constituents when she's done with her two medical tests. “I have two tests left to determine kung kakayanin ko yung mga ipapasubok na bagong gamot sa’kin, praying all goes well because kayo ang boss niya at wala sa job requirement ng VG ang tumulong mag-alaga sa’kin,” she said.

Describing public service as a “privilege” and an “accepted reality,” she stressed that it's “more important than any friendship or romantic relationship.”

“Love teaches you how to be patient; constituents in need of social services are not expected to be, because the mandate they gave is based on respect and trust; and for all of us, life is difficult enough.”

“Pasensya na po, kinailangan ko lang po ng masasandalan at hindi niya ako binigo, mga Batangueño. Hindi ko na po siya gagambalain para yung focus niya, inyong inyo,” she wrote.

Mark had a short but sweet reply to her comment in the same thread: “Anything, anytime, anywhere for you, my love.”

Romance speculations between Kris and Mark started brewing in 2019, but they only resurfaced in early 2023 when they were spotted spending New Year’s Day together in the United States.

Mark visited Kris on her birthday on Feb. 14 and surprised her with a sweet video presentation. She, however, was quick to clarify that Mark is just her “best male friend” at the time.

They also spent Easter Sunday together with Kris’ son Bimby and fashion designer Michael Leyva.

Kris has been in the US since June 2022 for her medical tests and procedures for her multiple autoimmune ailments. Bimby recently revealed that she’s stable and now weighs 103 pounds—a significant improvement from her weight early last year at 88 lbs.

In her health update on April 15, Kris said her recent lab results were “alarming,” but she remains grateful to her team of doctors who found treatments that could restore her health over time.
