Son of former SexBomb member Izzy reveals her disapproval of his drag queen career: 'I wanna live my own truth'

Former Sexbomb Girls’ Izzy Trazona-Aragon is bearing the brunt of public backlash after she penned an open letter revealing that she disapproves of her son Andrei's sexuality and drag queen career, to which the latter confirmed.

The issue started when Izzy published a lengthy post on her Facebook stressing that she loves Andrei "so much to not support" him on things that could supposedly "harm" him. Andrei, who made his debut in the local drag scene in December 2022, recently joined Viñas DeLuxe‘s Bunganga Battle Royale competition, going by the name Sofia.

In her post, Izzy shared that she simply wants what's "best" for her son before saying that she is "holding on to the truth that is written in the Bible, the word of God."

"So if my children, the four of them, will do something that is against the faith that I have in Christ, [then I will] disagree. I point them to Jesus because with that I will be secured with their future," Izzy wrote.

"Sino ba naman magulang ang gustong mapahamak ang anak? When your motive is to save them sa mas masakit na pwede nilang maranasan. Ang buhay na wala si Kristo. Andrei anak, I love you so much to not support you on things that will harm you. I am always here for you…your mama, mahal na mahal kita," she ended.

Her post was far from being well-received by social media users, who criticized her for her unacceptance of her own son.

"Nakakakilabot 'yung mga magulang na ginagamit pa ang pangalan ni Jesus at pagiging 'Christian' para pagtakpan yung pagiging homophobic nila," one user commented.

Another one wrote, "And you call yourself a mom? The moment you start loving your kids with conditions that’s when you stopped being a mom."

In a separate post, Andrei responded to his mother's letter by admitting that he lied in a previous interview that Izzy supported him in his endeavors.

"I lied in an interview that she supports for what I am and for what I do just to protect her from any backlash, but there's no point in protecting her because the truth came out straight from her," he wrote.

The drag queen artist emphasized that while he still loves his mother, he couldn't bear to "live in a lie" anymore.

"I'm sustaining myself for years now and I am living responsibly honest. I'm tired of this conversation about me being gay and doing drag. I wanna end this argument by saying that "I wanna live my own truth and someday you will be proud of what I will become," Andrei highlighted.

"I love you so much mom but this isn't healthy for me anymore. I hope someday you will understand how it feels to be in my shoes. I miss you, but you're not bringing me any comfort and compassion I deserve," he ended.

Many of his fans and followers took the time to shower him with supportive messages for standing up to his ideals.

"Life is too short not to live it with your genuine self," one user commented.

Another one wrote, "Keep up the good work. Just be guided of what will make you happy and a better person."
