Bela Padilla meets Song Joong-ki: 'He's so chill and friendly'

Bela Padilla unexpectedly met South Korean star Song Joong Ki, and her friends had the best reactions to it!  

Actress-director shared on her Instagram account an ultimate fangirl experience when she met the Vincenzo star Song Joong Ki on Tuesday, May 23 (Philippine time) at the Cannes Film Festival. 

“Good morning. (He’s so chill and friendly),” Bela wrote with kilig emojis. “Thank you for pointing him out direk [Adolfo Borinaga Alix, Jr.].”

Director Adolf also shared his photo with the actor, captioning his post: “Song Joong-ki in Cannes! Big Boss is a nice guy and very accommodating,” he wrote.  

The actress also posted on her Instagram story her photo in all smiles during her swim, 30 minutes before meeting Song Joong Ki.

Pinoy celebrities like Angelica Panganiban, Marielle Padilla, and Kim Chiu expressed their delight and excitement about the encounter. 

“OMG!!!! Pa add na sha sa GC momsy!!!! May sasabihin ako!!! pede pa video greet!!???” Actress Kim Chiu commented. 

“Nice seeing you. Ay di pala ako yan,” TV host Kim Atienza wrote. While Ryan Bang quipped: “Akala ko di ka magpost pic natin post mo na pala.” 

Bela and Song Joong Ki, are among the other artists and filmmakers around the globe that are present at this year’s Cannes Film Festival—an annual celebration of art and filmmaking. It started on May 16 and is set to set on May 27. 

The actress shared a reel of her experience so far in the prestigious festival, describing how the education she gets there is “so precious.”

She reflected on how much the whole experience was surreal: “If I had told myself at 16 that I’d be here today, talking to fellow filmmakers about the right directions to follow and necessary changes we need to adapt to make life easier for the next generation, I would have laughed,” she said. 

“To give myself this opportunity to be here amongst like-minded people is such a gift. I feel inspired to write again and I’m now hungry for more,” she added. “Follow your dreams. It’ll be scary. But it’s really the best you can do for yourself and the people around you.” 

Aside from Bela, Filipino actors like Enchong Dee, Kylie Verzosa, and Pia Wurtzbach also attended the event.
