Sarah Geronimo on becoming a mother: 'May mga fears, pero kung ibibigay ni Lord, so be it'

Sarah Geronimo said she’s excited to start a family with Matteo Guidicelli even though she has some “fears” and “doubts” about becoming a mother.

The "popstar royalty" was asked when she's planning to have a baby with her husband in celebrity doctor Vicki Belo’s recent vlog. To which, she said, “Kung ano po, kung ibibigay naman ni Lord.”

The actress-singer shared that while she's looking forward to welcoming a child, she also has some worries about motherhood. “Excited din naman po [ako to be a mom]. May mga fears, ganyan, pero kung ibibigay ni Lord, so be it.”

“Madami [akong fears]. Syempre, equipped, really equipped to be a mother,” she added.

“Open book naman sa mga tao na late bloomer po ako. Medyo may mga doubts na ganon, pero kung ibibigay ni Lord, okay naman po ako—if it’s really His will,” she continued.

This comes a few months after Matteo shared that he's ready to start a family with the singer.

“I guess for 2024 and in the future sana mag-baby na kami. In God’s time,” Matteo said in her December 2023 interview, adding that he and his wife have been planning to have a baby for a long time now.

“At the end of the day, my priority is my wife and family so I think that’s part of the plan. But again, you can’t plan too hard because it’s God that uses this blessing,” he continued. “So, we just hope for the best and do what we have to do.”

“Whatever comes, whatever happens, happens. Let’s just pray for that,” he said.

Sarah confirmed her relationship with Matteo in 2014 after being spotted together in different locations. They first worked together in 2011 on the film Catch Me… I’m In Love, where they starred alongside Gerald Anderson.

They announced their engagement in 2019 and tied the knot in an intimate ceremony a year later.
