Tyla's 'Water,' Beyoncé's 'America Has a Problem,' among Barack Obama's favorite songs of 2023

Former U.S. President Barack Obama has unveiled his annual list of top songs, with Beyoncé’s America Has a Problem and Tyla’s viral track Water included in his playlist. 

Obama shared his top song pic for 2023 on his Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) accounts on Friday, Dec. 29 (Philippine time). 

“Here are some of my favorite songs from this year. Let me know if there are any artists or songs I should check out,” he wrote in the caption.

The list featured tracks from Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar’s America Has a Problem, Tyla’s  Water, Megan Thee Stallion’s Cobra, and Mitski’s My Love Mine All Mine.

It also includes Latin and Afro beats like TQG by Karol G and Shakira and Unavailable by Davido and Musa Keys. 

The former president also listened to country and folk music, such as I Remember Everything by Zach Bryan featuring Kacey Musgraves and Cast Iron Skillet by Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit. 

A few days ago, he also unveiled his favorite books for the year, which included Patricia Evangelista, a Filipino journalist, nonfiction book dubbed Some People Need Killing: A Memoir of Murder in My Country that centered on former PH President Rodrigo Duterte’s war on drugs. 

He also shared his 2023 wrapped on movies, which included Oppenheimer, Rustin, and Past Lives.  

Obama served as the 44th president of the United States. Three years after the end of his term, he published a memoir titled A Promised Land that details his presidency.
