Dimples Romana squashes Angel Locsin-Neil Arce breakup rumors: 'She's very, very happy and happily married'

Dimples Romana dispelled breakup rumors between her good friend Angel Locsin and husband Neil Arce.

In a report by ABS-CBN News, Dimples denied speculations regarding the couple's relationship status, saying that Neil looks after Angel very well and that the latter remains contentedly married.

"I get to see her naman, she's very, very happy and happily married, and Neil is taking very good care of her," the Iron Heart actress said.

Dimples, who is in constant communication with Angel, emphasized that the couple's marital status is still very much intact. Hence, she advised social media users to avoid looking for information on the internet about the couple's real score.

"The thing is, people are so involved with social media that we think if we don't see married people posting online together, parang hiwalay na sila! No po! Hindi ibig sabihin wala sa social media, doesn't mean it's not happening,” she shared.

According to Dimples, social media shouldn't be the main source of reassurance in a relationship. She believes it's important to disconnect sometimes.

"Sometimes a little [time] off of social media can do you good. Kadalasan sa social media pa galing 'yung frustrations mo, yung comparison mo with the life of others, and when you pause a little bit and know that not everything on social media can be helpful to you," she said.

Dimples added that one can live a happy life like Neil and Angel, who are offline but very happy. She admitted she also misses seeing Angel back in the limelight.

"She's so light-hearted, and you just feel that she's very, very happy. So once na mag decide siya, at pinagdadasal natin 'yun na malapit na 'yun, I'm excited that I get to work with her," Dimples said about Angel.

Intentional hiatus

It was in November 2022 when Neil brushed off the rumor mill that he had broken up with his wife. Neil sent a text message to entertainment reporter Ogie Diaz on the real status of their relationship, saying "Me and my wife are charitable people. Donation na namin sa fake news peddlers yang kikitain nila sa pagkakalat ng fake news."

According to another vlog by Ogie last Sept. 2023, Angel is enjoying her life as a housewife to Neil, hence wanting to take a break from social media.

"Ine-enjoy niya lang ang kanyang pagiging maybahay kay Neil Arce, syempre gumagalaw pa rin ang cellphone ni Ange at siya'y naaaliw sa mga games."

"Ibigay natin kay Angel Locsin 'yun, dahil 'yun ang gusto niya," Diaz continued.

Similarly, in a separate interview in the following month with entertainment journalist Kiko Escuadro, Dimples said she is very happy to see Angel taking time off from the entertainment industry.

“I’m very happy that she is taking this time off kasi nakita mo naman magtrabaho ‘yung taong ‘yun at grabe din ‘yun lumaban pagdating sa pandemya noon. Pagdating sa virus at trahedya, siya ang nauuna doon,” she said.

“Lagi kong dasal sa kanya noon, dati, sabi ko sa kanya, please maghinay-hinay ka kasi ‘yung katawan mo. Tayo ay hindi bumabata, baka niyan magkasakit ka," she added.

Angel's latest television appearance was in the 2020 Filipino family comedy-drama film Four Sisters Before the Wedding, a prequel to the hit 2013 movie Four Sisters and a Wedding, where she played the role of Alex, "the black sheep of the family."

The same year, she hosted Iba' Yan, an ABS-CBN weekly show showcasing "ordinary people with extraordinary stories to highlight the strength of the Filipino spirit."

She also remains quiet on social media. Her last update was made in August 2022 when she posted on X about their Spain trip to Alicante, Spain.

Her Instagram account is still private.
