Award-winning actress Nadine Lustre and French partner Christophe Bariou have a new baby—a liquor brand that is.

On Instagram, the Deleter star announced the birth of Maison Bukana Wines named after Christophe’s Siargao beach resort.

"Grateful for the countless days of uncertainty and problem-solving cuz it’s what makes the journey so so personal. It feels surreal seeing our passion project come to life," the 29-year-old actress wrote while noting that the said wines are already available on Boozy, an online liquor store.

In a separate post, Christophe also shared his happiness towards the product and called it their "baby"

"Can’t believe our new baby is finally out there! @nadine and I are so happy to share with you @maisonbukanawines, a project born out of our common passion," he wrote as he used the French word Les beaux jours reviennent which means "beautiful days are ahead" to signify one of its wine flavors, rosé.

Anchoring on the product's tagline, "Harmonizing Excellence in Both Worlds,” Nadine's vision for her wine was to blend the best of France and Siargao, both in taste and experience.

"Maison Bukana Wines' ambition is to unite the best of two worlds, from the endless hills of French vineyards to the turquoise waters of the Philippine archipelago, our selection of wines matches our tropical palate and warm disposition."

In an interview with MJ Marfori, Nadine revealed that all the wines were developed in France with the palate in mind. She said that the vintages of the wine were "carefully chosen as the perfect accompaniment for those little moments of ruminating and appreciating life."

“We went to France and we looked for a vineyard that would develop the wine. So, the wine and all were developed in France, but iyong iniisip nga namin the wine is born in France but enjoyed by Filipinos because it’s more for the Filipino palate,” she shared.

“It’s really different because tayo mahilig sa sweet and savory na food and drinks, so iyong wine na napili namin was mainly for our palette.”

Nadine also said how her French beau influenced her interest in wine.

“Before I met Chris nga, iyong wine sa akin wala iinumin ko lang to have a buzz and to enjoy with friends like a social thing. But now, after our trip last August, natutunan ko na na, 'Oh okay, how to properly drink wine, the history of wine, how they make it' and we went to a museum in Bordeaux,” she said.

Maison Bukana’s offerings are white, rosé, and red wine which cost P1,199 each. It is available on Boozy and Barna Siargao.
