Andrea Torres on being objectified as a sexy star: 'You'll never get used to it'
Sexy star Andrea Torres shared that she sometimes finds it hard to ignore the lewd comments she receives about her body.
Speaking to the “King of Talk” in Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, the BetCin star opened up about her experience being objectified and verbally harassed because of her image as a sexy star.
“Are there times Andrea na naba-bother ka because people look at you first as a sexy young woman, may mga panahon ba na nao-objectify ka?” Boy Abunda asked, to which Andrea honestly admitted: “Meron din po.”
“Lalo na kapag nakakakuha ka ng mga bastos na comments, you’ll never get used to it. Paano nila naiisip na okay lang sabihin sa akin ‘to? I guess yun yung downside nun,” the 33-year-old actress said.
She furthered that although she appreciates compliments about her appearance, which she said she worked hard for, she can’t help but feel offended by other comments that are below the belt and downright offensive.
“Though, I find it flattering na na-aappreciate nila yung hardwork ko sa gym, ‘yung pagda-diet ko, poud ako na nakuha ko yung body na confident ako being in and feeling ko strong ako, I feel good when I eat healthy. I’m happy na nakaka-inspire ako ng other girls din,” she said.
“Pero yung side lang na yun na, kahit parang ‘in favor’ sayo yung comment na nagagandahan sa ‘yo, nakaka-offend din na, bakit nila naisip na okay lang na ganun,” she said, despite this, she said she just chooses to not engage with it.
When asked who she is without her sexy image, Andrea said that she is just “simple.”
“Simple lang ako, Tito Boy," she started. "Actually, pag pumunta ka nga po sa bahay namin lagi akong nakapaa, naka duster (dress), and I still enjoy doing the things na ginagawa ko before, like coffee break sa isang araw na mag-isa lang ako, makapag muni-muni, I like observing people. Fascinated po ako sa buhay ng tao, kaya siguro naging artista rin ako.”
Andrea is known for her sexy portrayals in movies and television shows. She often posts sexy photoshoots including her some of her workout sessions on her Instagram account.
She was part of GMA television shows Legal Wives, The Better Woman, the web series BetCin with Kylie Padilla, and Maria Clara at Ibarra where she played Sisa.
