Is LJ Reyes ready to forgive Paolo Contis? ‘Hindi siya madaling ibigay, so I’m working on it.’
LJ Reyes admitted that it hasn’t been easy to forgive her ex-partner Paolo Contis after their recent breakup, although she’s “working on it.”
Reyes opened up about forgiving Contis and adjusting to her new life in New York, USA in an exclusive 24 Oras interview. The actress, with her kids Aki and Summer, flew to the USA after their split.
“Forgiveness is a work in progress. Hindi madaling ibigay ang forgiveness, diba? Lahat naman tayo, we get hurt (and) we get angry, but you work on it every day to forgive people, yourself, or whoever. You pray about it,” she said.
The actress admitted that she “surrendered” her painful breakup to the Lord. “For me, hindi kasi siya madaling bagay na ibigay, so surrender lang talaga kay God. And I’m working on it,” she said.
Reyes shared that her children are “adjusting very well” to their new life in New York. “Aki goes to face-to-face classes here, para naman ma-experience niya ‘yung normal na buhay ulit.”
She also expressed her gratitude to her family, friends, and the Filipino community in New York, who served as her support system throughout their stay.
Reyes confirmed her breakup with Contis, after a six-year relationship, in a teaser video of her interview with TV host Boy Abunda. The actor apologized to his longtime partner in a lengthy Instagram post in September.
