‘I’ll never be somebody like you’: Rabiya Mateo responds to basher who said she ‘looks cheap’

Rabiya Mateo had a powerful response to her basher who said she “looks cheap.” 

Reacting to the negative remark in the comment section of her TikTok page, the beauty queen reminded her followers of the importance of choosing to be kind “in a world full of bullies.” 

“You know what, madam, miss, or hindi ko alam kung paano kita i-a-address, you can be the most expensive-looking person, but if you’re mean or rude, or the way you think or talk to people is not right, I don’t think na I want to be somebody like you,” she began.

The local star said that she’s proud of herself and the way she treats other people. “I’m proud kung paano ako manamit, kung paano ako magsalita, kung paano ako makikapwa-tao.”

Stressing that she’s not shaming the netizen over her age, Rabiya reiterated that the basher should be a good example to the people around her. “I hope sa edad niyo pong ‘yan, marami na kayong natutunan sa buhay. You should be a good example to your family, to your kids, to your apo kung meron ka na po dahil hindi ganyan dapat mag-act sa social media.” 

“Marami na po kayong pinagdaanan sa buhay, I’m sure of that. And sana, you chose to be a good person na makaka-inspire ng ibang tao, diba?” she continued. 

“Pero sige, bigay ko nalang po yun sa inyo. If I look cheap, pasensya na po. Pero I will never be somebody like you,” she concluded.

Since she joined the pageant scene, the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 titleholder said she’s been used to seeing “mean comments” on her social media pages. This was the first time, however, that she responded to one through a video.
