LIST: 38th EDSA People Power events happening on Feb. 25
February 25 marks the 38th Anniversary of EDSA People Power. But it isn't just a calendar mark—it's a powerful reminder of history that shaped our nation. This year's theme is "EDSA 2024: Pagkakaisa at Paninindigan laban sa mga Bagong Hamon sa Bayan."
While President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. removed the EDSA anniversary from this year's holiday list, (to the Office of the President's defense, was because the event fell on a Sunday), organizers are hosting events to not only remember our defiance of the dictatorship but to continue working towards a more just nation. Bantay ng Demokrasya: EDSA Commemorative Event
Bantay ng Demokrasya: EDSA Commemorative Event by GoodGov PH is an event that aims to educate the younger generation about the EDSA People Power Revolution.
The program will have interactive activities, a workshop on EDSA history and relevance, a lecture on the importance of good governance, and brainstorming sessions.
It will be on Feb. 25 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Kanlungan ng Sining in Luneta Park, Metro Manila, Philippines. Registration starts as early as 12:30 p.m.
Those who are interested in participating may register here on or before Feb. 24 at 5 p.m. Slots are limited and you will receive a confirmation once your slot is secured.
EDSA Freedom Ride
Ride for a cause. Anyone who is "willing to move for freedom" may join the EDSA Freedom Ride this Sunday organized by the #BuhayAngEDSACampaign Network. Whether you're a biker, jogger, skater, or walker, you can join the event happening at the Ninoy Aquino Monument, Ayala Avenue cor Paseo de Roxas, Makati City.

The EDSA Story
Another event organized by the #BuhayAngEDSACampaign Network, The EDSA Story is a "commemorative experience that takes you back to the heart of EDSA."
It will feature performances by Bayang Barrios, Noel Cabangon, Xiao Chua, Jaime Fabregas, Arman Ferrer, Jep Go with Edru Abraham and UP Kontra Gapi, and Ateneo Entablado. There will also be video performances by Macoy Dubs and Mighty Magulang.
The event will be held on Sunday at 10 a.m. at the Club Filipino in San Juan City.
Dakila
Dakila is organizing a series of events and activities including public screenings of the award-winning documentary 11,103, happening from Feb. 21 to 23, interactive public performances at the Bantayog ng mga Bayani, and a presentation of Habilin, an animated series about People Power courtesy of PumaPodcast, and an online exhibit of artistic works on Martial Law through the Digital Museum of Martial Law in the Philippines.
Aside from those pockets of collective activities are to be held in Metro Manila, Iloilo, Laguna, and Bacolod, including mural painting, public exhibition, game nights, musical events, and more.
"Through these activities, we reaffirm that "Ang People Power ay HIGIT PA: Higit pa sa isang lugar. Higit pa sa isang taon. Higit pa sa isang kulay," reminding us that this movement goes beyond a single place, prominent personalities, or a single year. It is a manifestation of the people's desire to be governed democratically, and even after 1986, this fight for democracy and human rights continues," the organization wrote.
