'Tabing Ilog' reunion? Patrick Garcia shares BTS photos with Kaye Abad, Paolo Contis from upcoming film
Who's up for a throwback?
Former Tabing Ilog stars Kaye Abad, Paolo Contis, and Patrick Garcia are set to reunite in an upcoming movie—two decades since their hit youth-oriented series ended.
Patrick recently went on Instagram to share a picture of himself with his co-stars by the riverside during Day 4 of their taping.
Fellow actor Janus del Prado left musical note emojis and the words "sa ilog."
"James, Eds and Badong," wrote one fan.
"Nakakamis[s] and tabing ilog kapanahonan namin noon[.] sana magka reunion sila," said another.
The still-unnamed film was made official by Mavx Productions last April 28, posting several snaps and look tests of the ongoing project with the cast.
The movie pays homage to their 1999 teen series, Tabing Ilog, about three childhood best friends who take on a life-changing road trip.
While additional details on other casts and target date are yet to be released, their destination film will be shot in Tazmania, Australia.
Beaming with excitement, Paolo said in an interview that meeting his fellow cast members felt completely different after two decades.
“Sobrang nakaka-miss nakita ko si Kaye kanina. Na-meet ko si Paul Jake [Castillo], yung husband niya, dumalaw kanina and her family. Sobrang iba," he said.
Kaye, meanwhile, admitted her reason for accepting the role. "Because of my co-actors na kasama ko. Alam kong hindi ako mahihirapan when it comes sa friendship na mga scenes, kasi magkakaibigan talaga kaming tatlo. So, mas madali na para sa akin."
Tabing Ilog is a top-billed television series aired from 1999 to 2003 that cast other notable actors including John Loyd Cruz, Jodi Sta. Maria, Baron Geisler, Camille Prats, Dimples Romana, and more.
