LIST: Kathryn Bernardo, Bae Suzy, ‘The Glory,’ among 2023 Seoul Int'l Drama Awards winners
Kapamilya actress Kathryn Bernardo has added another recognition to her vast list of acting achievements after being named one of the Outstanding Asian Stars in the 18th Seoul International Drama Awards (SDA).
Bernardo is the second Filipina who won the award after Belle Mariano who was recognized for her performance in the romantic comedy series He’s Into Her.
Announced on Sept. 6, other Outstanding Asian Star winners include Extraordinary Attorney Woo star Park Eun-Bin; Thai superstar Gun Atthaphan Phunsawat; Chinese actor, singer, and dancer Yunxi Luo; and Yusei Yagi, a member of EXILE TRIBE's J-pop group FANTASTICS.
The Seoul Drama Awards Organizing Committee (SDAOC) announced the winners, chosen from 344 entries from 44 countries and regions, the highest number of entries in SDA history.

Meanwhile, seven winners from the International Invitation Category were also announced. These include the Norwegian drama Cammo which bagged the Special Prize Award for "the best program of 2023 dealing with social issues."
For the Korean Drama Competition, The Glory (starring Song Hye Kyo) and Extraordinary Attorney Woo (starring Park Eun Bin) won the Outstanding Korean Drama award. According to SDAOC, the two Korean dramas were both a great success in the global drama market.
Other winners in the same category include Lee Sung Min (Reborn Rich), who will receive the Outstanding Korean Actor award, and singer Ho Joong Kim, the singer of the OST of KBS Drama Three Bold Siblings, will be honored with the Outstanding Korean Drama OST award.
The grand prize in the International Competition and Golden Bird Prize in International Invitation will be announced at the awarding ceremony. The Golden Bird Prize is a new award selected by SDAOC itself and will be given to “one of the most successful series that leads the industry of the year.”
The SDA 2023 awards ceremony will be held on Sept. 21, 6 p.m. KST at KBS Hall in Seoul, South Korea. It will be broadcast live on KBS 2TV and through SDA's official YouTube channel.
Founded in 2006, the Seoul International Drama Awards is an award-giving festival known in South Korea that brings Asian drama and entertainment into the global limelight.
Kathryn stars in the thriller revenge film A Very Good Girl alongside Dolly de Leon. It will be exclusively released in theaters beginning Sept. 27.
