Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who served 8 years for role in mom's murder, enjoys family time 'after so long'
Gypsy Rose Blanchard has been enjoying family time since her release after serving eight of her 10-year sentence for plotting the murder of her mother, who subjected her to multiple and “painful” medical procedures for made-up illnesses and treating her like a “prisoner.”
In a TikTok post on Dec. 31 (Jan. 1 Manila time), Blanchard addressed her followers in a selfie video, thanking them for the support.
"I'm finally free," she said. "I just wanted to send a quick video to thank everyone for the massive amount of support that I've been getting on social media.”

“Everyone has been really, really nice and supportive, and I really appreciate that,” the 32-year-old added.
Blanchard said “a lot of great things” are happening “really soon,” including her upcoming eBook that, she said, isn’t a “rehashing of everything that happened” but rather a “reflection of everything that I have learned and experienced in the last eight and a half years."
In another video, Blanchard greeted everyone a Happy New Year, noting she’s celebrating with her dad Rod, stepmom Kristy, and husband Ryan Anderson.
“We're looking to ring in the New Year together,” she said, “and it's going to be really awesome to have some family time after so long."

She also posted a selfie with Kristy as they used a cat filter and with Anderson as they shared a kiss.
Blanchard urged her ex, Nicholas Godejohn, to kill her mother, Claudine Blanchard, in 2015.
Her case became a sensation and has been adapted into multiple television series and documentaries, including HBO’s 2017 documentary Mommy Dead and Dearest, Hulu’s miniseries The Act, and an upcoming docuseries, The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard.
Blanchard was released from prison on Dec. 28 this year after being granted parole in September.
