It's confirmed: Paris Baguette to open in the Philippines

Another favorite Korean food establishment is coming to the Philippines. Hallyu fans might have spotted this European-inspired cafe quite a few times in some K-dramas like The King: Eternal Monarch and The Best Hit or you may have checked it out at the airport.

Yes, we're talking about Paris Baguette.

Before, the only way to try Paris Baguette was to fly to South Korea and visit one of its many stores (around 3,600 of them!). But now, Filipinos will soon be able to enjoy the popular bakery-cafe's delicious pastries and drinks without having to leave the country.

On Thursday, Aug. 10, the company officially signed a deal with Malaysia's Berjaya Food and Middle Trade Inc., where they announced that the first branch will open in the fourth quarter of 2023. No details about its location yet, but keep your eyes peeled.

Speaking about how the brand gained popularity since it was founded in 1988, President and CEO of SPC Group Mr. Hur Jin-Soo said they couldn't wait for the Filipinos to try their goods.

“The brand’s global success is rooted in the spirit of Sangmidang, which is to not leave a single piece of bread unchecked. This practice has put a name on Paris Baguette as a household bakery with about 3,500 stores in South Korea alone, and we are excited for our Filipino patrons to experience this commitment and get their hands on quality bread anytime, anywhere,” he said.

Aside from its baked goods like Chocolate Croissants, Cherry & Greek Yogurt Danish, pizzettas, and more, Paris Baguette is also popular for its cakes like the Signature Silky Roll Cake and snacks such as macarons, bear madeleines, and cheese tarts.

Excited yet?
