Explore Intramuros in style in this Filipiñana costume and tranvia tour

If you want to travel back in time to the good old days and experience what it was like living in Intramuros while decked in elegant, traditional get-up, then you're in luck. Get ready to break out your best Filipiñana attire from your closets and bauls for a new costume tour.

Organized by WanderManila, Renacimiento Manila, The Heritage Collective, Don't Skip Manila, and and AKIM / Manila Girls, the Intramuros Filipiñana Tranviaganza is welcoming interested travelers for a tour around the historic Walled City in the Metro.

But the twist is that all guests are highly encouraged to slip on Filipiñana attire from the Spanish and American periods.

If you're concerned about getting hot and stuffy because of your outfit, then fret not as the tour will have its guests riding the Intramuros tranvia, a streetcar system that served as transportation in Manila during the early 20th century. With this, you can enjoy cruising around the old district without getting too exposed to the heat and elements.

The tour will stop at five major destinations: Manila Cathedral, San Agustin Church, Plaza San Luis Complex, Baluarte de San Diego, and last but not least, Fort Santiago.

Of course, sightseeing around Intramuros is never complete without getting your souvenir photos taken. According to the guidelines, the tour will have a designated photo station per location, where official photos will be taken, but you can also capture unforgettable memories using your own device afterwards.

The official photos will be sent to your email address a week after the tour, but you can also request for hard copies.

The Intramuros Filipiñana Tranviaganza costs P1,000 per head, which includes the use of the tranvia, the entrance fees to Fort Santiago and Baluarte de San Diego, the official photos, and a merch bag with loads of goodies.

The tour will take place on Sept. 3 with four schedules: 8 am, 10 am, 2 pm, and 4 pm. The tour allows a maximum of 20 registered guests in the tranvia per tour schedule.
