ICYMI: Seoul subway to offer unlimited passes to tourists

When it comes to traveling abroad, chances are you'll be using public transportation to get around. Not only does it make it convenient to get from one point to another, it's the most affordable option, too! However, if you have many places to tick off your itinerary, the transportation cost can add up quickly.

If you're going to South Korea soon, you might want to take advantage of the new unlimited subway passes.

The capital's subway operator Seoul Metro will offer unlimited subway passes sometime this year to cater to the rising number of foreign tourists.

According to Korea Joong Daily, "the service comes with over 12,000 foreign tourists a day visiting the city as of this June, a nine-fold increase compared to the same period last year."

The pass will allow travelers to take subway rides within a designated period. There's a day pass, which is expected to cost 5,600 KRW (P237), and a three-day pass to cost 11,800 KRW (P501).

The prices are not yet final, a representative of Seoul Metro said, but it's good to consider this option in advance. Further details of the service will be announced soon.

Got no visa yet? Korea Visa Application Center opened its doors for walk-in applicants last Aug. 29 to streamline the visa application process for travelers from the Philippines. This means that you would no longer have to book an appointment online for your visa.

KVAC is accepting all types of visa applications with a service fee of P900. Processing usually takes seven to eight days to be completed.
