Nadine Lustre has decided to stop shopping for leather bags and shoes for a very good reason.

Just recently, the actress openly talked about her vegan lifestyle, which she's been practicing for eight months now. It has not only changed her diet but also her shopping choices as she has completely stopped buying leather products.

In a vlog uploaded by celebrity dermatologist Dr. Aivee Teo, Nadine reminisced about her Monaco trip and shared her plans to focus on food and accommodation on her next visit instead of shopping. While the place is filled with stunning views and must-try food spots, she said she's still on the hunt for restaurants that would help her stick with her lifestyle choice.

“We found restaurants in Paris, parang 2-star or 3-star Michelin na vegan, so that’s what we are aiming for. That's why sabi ko, ‘Okay, for this trip I’m not gonna shop,’” the 29-year-old said.

Nadine no longer eats meat, seafood, or dairy and now consumes no-egg bread offerings like sourdough and vegan butter. She also goes for vegan-friendly wine offerings.

“I pick the wine I drink 'cause sometimes it has ano diba, like animal product. Hindi pwede,” she said.

Aside from food, Nadine shared that she now incorporates her vegan lifestyle even into her fashion choices.

“I feel like it [shopping] will be hard for me, doc, kasi I stopped buying leather na—bags, shoes, yeah, I stopped buying na completely,” she revealed.

In a separate conversation with Dr. Aivee for a lifestyle magazine, Nadine shared how being vegan has affected the way she sees things, especially animals. “When I switched to vegan, that’s when I became more conscious, then I started becoming more and more emphatic to animals,” she said.

In a previous interview with PhilSTAR L!fe, nutritionist Jo Sebastian said being vegan goes beyond diet. "It's more of a lifestyle. Most vegans also practice their beliefs for lessening harm through clothing and products used. No consumption of meat, poultry, eggs, seafood, and dairy, or use of leather, silk, honey, and the list goes on.”
