Cats are known for being chillaxed and playful. By the same token, they're notorious for being pesky and chaotic.
Some fur parents, then, resort to placing them in a kennel, an enclosure, perhaps an isolated area somewhere at home, if not train them to voluntarily go to their designated places.
For a woman from Laguna, however, an empty aquarium is the supposed rightful place for her feline friend.
Facebook user Jenelyn Pagalanan on Jan. 31 posted photos of Pushako, a one-year-old purebred white Persian cat, looking more grumpy than ever as he's inside inches of rectangular glass.
"Bukod sa inubos niya 'yung mga isda, pangarap din siguro niyang maging isda," Jenelyn said of Pushako in her now-viral post, with over 5,700 reactions.
Though there were no eyewitnesses or CCTV footage, they didn't need to be a Sherlock to know Pushako was the one behind the disappearances of their pet fish, which once had a count of 20.
"Nagsimula si Pushako na pinanonood lang niyang lumangoy-langoy iyong mga isda. After ilang days, nakikita na namin siyang dumudungaw at doon na rin umiinom!" Jenelyn told PhilSTAR L!fe. "Tapos nababawasan na ang bilang ng mga isda namin."
That's when they decided to empty the tank. Apparently, the lack of water and fish didn't stop Pushako from climbing it and even inhabiting it for days.
"Ginawa na niyang kwarto at nilalaro-laro niya iyong fake plants at pebbles," Jenelyn said.
She also sent L!fe more photos of Pushako.
But Pushako doesn't stay there forever, whether it's an attempt at sitting pretty, a self-imposed punishment for his shenanigans, or a deep desire of being a piscine creature—a catfish?
He still roams around the house, exudes confidence, and brings joy to household members, yet displays the occasional disinterest.
For those who wish to take care of cats, Jenelyn jokingly advised against caring for fish, too, as they may have the same experience as hers.
Kidding aside, she said pets must be treated just like a family member and not a mere animal.
"Sobra din silang magmahal," Jenelyn said, "lalo kapag ramdam nila iyong pag-aalaga at pagmamahal ninyo sa kanila."
