Michelle Dee is the Philippines’ new tourism ambassador.
According to the Philippine News Agency, Department of Tourism chief Christina Frasco announced that they have tapped the country’s Miss Universe 2023 bet to take on the role.
The beauty queen, in an Instagram post, called her latest feat a “full circle moment.”
“I’ve always been proud to call the Philippines my home and to call myself Pinoy,” she wrote. “To be able to work closely with the Department of Tourism to achieve our shared goal of promoting Filipinas is a dream come true.”
“Maraming salamat sa tiwala,” she added.

Frasco, for her part, said that this is no longer new for Dee. “(Becoming a tourism ambassador) is not new, because you have already acted as our tourism ambassador through your representation of the country in Miss Universe,” she told the local star.
PNA reported that during the courtesy call last week, Dee was invited to visit Western Visayas and take part in DOT’s landmark project, the Philippine Experience.
Dee represented the Philippines at the 72nd Miss Universe pageant, where she finished in the Top 10 and bagged special recognitions, including "Voice for Change," Carnival Cruise Award, and Best in National Costume.
