The famous Broadway Theater in New York City was flooded with all things Filipino during the Here Lies Love opening night.

The all-Filipino musical cast rocked traditional Filipino formal wear as they posed for some photos in front of the iconic Philippine jeepney parked outside the theater for the play's kickoff show on Thursday, July 20.

Jo Koy, in a July 24 Instagram post, expressed his delight as he posted a video of his son sitting inside the Pinoy vehicle at The Big Apple.

“I never thought in a million years that my son would be sitting inside of a jeepney in NYC in front of a Broadway musical with an all-Filipino cast that his dad is producing. Dream Big!” he wrote.

Filipino celebrities Liza Soberano and Yassi Pressman were also present at the event.

Here Lies Love narrates the former First Lady Imelda Marcos' rise and fall from power after the EDSA People Power Revolution by transforming the theater "into a dance club where the audience is immersed in the story." The New York Times defined the play as "ingenious," while Time Out New York called it "an ecstatic and dynamic party."

Headlining the cast are Arielle Jacobs as Imelda Marcos and Jose Llana as Ferdinand Marcos Sr.

How to Get Away with Murder star Conrad Ricamora plays the assassinated senator Ninoy Aquino, while Tony Award winner Lea Salonga portrays the role of Aurora Aquino, the latter's mother. She also serves as one of the producers of the musical alongside Filipino-American personalities H.E.R and Jo Koy.

Directed by Tony and Golden Globe awards recipient Alex Timbers, the musical is set to run until January 2024.
