WATCH: Ed Sheeran sings 'Maybe The Night' with Ben&Ben during Manila concert
Ben&Ben vocalist brothers Miguel and Paolo Benjamin had one of their dreams come true as they performed their hit song Maybe the Night with English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran.
In case you didn't know, the nine-piece Filipino indie folk-pop band was one of Ed's opening acts for his + - = ÷ x Tour in Manila held at the SMDC Festival Grounds, Paranaque City, with Calum Scott as one of Ed's special guests.
After singing his hit songs Photograph, Tenerife Sea, and Happier as part of the closing set of his concert, Ed implied his love for OPM, highlighting the Ben&Ben.
"I really love coming back to Manila and the Philippines," he said. Afterward, the Benjamin twins Miguel and Paolo were back on stage as they performed the song with Ed.
On the same note, the 33-year-old Thinking Out Loud singer shared a video wherein he carries a portable karaoke, to have a candid sing-along time with Calum and the Ben&Ben.
"Karaoke is a huge thing here in the Philippines, so I found a portable machine to wheel around backstage before the show tonight," the caption read.
"Shout out to Ben&Ben and Calum Scott for bringing the A game and to Ken for joining in the fun," he added.
In the video, the local band sang along to some of Ed's hit song Perfect, the same song Ben&Ben covered in 2017, Love on Top, My Way, and Dancing Queen, among others.
On March 10, Miguel wrote about the experience on Instagram, calling it a "dream" and "unreal."
"It felt like a dream. Unreal 😭," the Filipino singer wrote.
"Thank you for having such a generous heart in sharing your stage, [Ed]. You’ve been a huge blessing and inspiration to so many musicians and fans, us included! This will forever be deep within our core memories," Miguel added.
This March 2024 concert marks Ed's third time to perform in the country following his concerts in 2015 and 2018.
In an interview with 24 Oras, Ed said his Pinoy fans have a special place in his heart.
"No other place on Earth has fans like the Philippines," he said in the interview. "The first time I came to the Philippines and I've never ever felt that much love from a place ever. Everywhere I went it was pandemonium, it's the first time I actually felt like a star."
