The Monterey Five are back.

Nicole Kidman announced that Big Little Lies is coming back for a third season.

Speaking onstage at a Ladies Professional Golf Association Q&A event, Nicole, who starred and served as an executive producer of the show, shared how the HBO series started and how it became a success

"I loved Big Little Lies," she said. "It sort of came along at a time in my life when I had my children and I was thinking I was going to retire. And then this situation came along, where Reese Witherspoon and I were able to produce that show and create that show. And then all of you watched it and made it a massive success."

She continued, "And we will be bringing you a third one, just FYI."

Big Little Lies is an adaptation of Liane Moriarty’s thriller about a group of five moms in Monterey, California whose lives were thrown into disarray when someone in their community is murdered. It aired in 2017 and its second season premiered in 2019.

It also stars co-executive producer Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, Zoe Kravitz, and Shailene Woodley.

Last year, Reese said that she and her castmates had been talking about a third season "all the time," but the passing of Jean-Marc Vallée, the series’ producer and first-season director “was really hard on us.”

“He was our collaborator. He was our friend. He was our brother. So much of that series was born of his imagination and his creativity, so it is hard to imagine a future without him,” she said in an interview.

“But there is certainly a deep desire for all of us to connect and create those characters again,” Reese continued.
