FIRST LOOK: Here's what you need to know about 'Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel' exhibit in Manila
It's all systems go for the exhibit featuring Italian maestro Michelangelo's works at Estancia Mall in Pasig—ahead of its public opening on July 1.
The Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition showcases the renowned artist's works that were reproduced photographically and artfully displayed in their original sizes.
As if lifting the frescoes off the ceiling of The Vatican and bringing them down to eye level, one may get a close-up look at 34 high-quality panels. The works took four and a half years to complete.
Guests are set to enter a series of corridors leading through the exhibit, which also includes audio recordings of Gregorian chant music and an aural guide, as well as a QR code that leads to details about the panels.
There are also subtle scents of patchouli, sandalwood, and frankincense dispersed to complement the experience.
Making the venue more exciting for kids is an area where they may color copies of the panels with crayons.
Unlike the actual Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition allows people to take photos to their heart's content.

Born in 1475, Michelangelo was a sculptor, painter, and architect widely considered to be one of the greatest artists of the High Renaissance, the period which saw exceptional art production in Italy.
"His work demonstrated a blend of psychological insight, physical realism, and intensity never before seen," the Sistine Chapel Philippines says on its website.
