Sorry, Chief Hong fans: Kim Seonho reportedly turning down projects, endorsements, fan meetings for 2022

Sad news for Chief Hong and Team Good Boy fans.

It seems like we wouldn’t see much of Kim Seonho anytime soon. According to reports, the Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha and Start-Up star has been declining offers to appear in films and K-dramas in 2022.

The actor also turned down overseas fan meetings and brand endorsement deals.

Despite this, Seonho is set to make his film debut with Sad Tropics where he will play the role of Korean-Filipino (KoPino) Kang Taejoo who dreams of becoming a boxer. He goes to South Korea to look for his biological dad who abandoned him in his childhood.

In October 2021, the actor was involved in a forced abortion controversy where an anonymous post claimed that he coerced his ex-girlfriend into getting an abortion on the false promise of marriage.

Seonho apologized for having caused pain due to “my carelessness and inconsiderate actions.” However, his ex-girlfriend has since responded to his statement, saying there has been a “misunderstanding” between us. She did not explain more about the misunderstanding at that time.

Following the controversy, the actor has been removed from the cast of the upcoming films Dog Days and 2 O’Clock Date. He also departed from the variety show 2 Days & 1 Night.
