NewJeans' 'Super Shy' tops Billboard's Best K-pop songs of 2023
Still LSS on NewJeans’ Super Shy? Billboard hailed the track as the number one best K-pop song this 2023.
According to the music entertainment magazine, the group’s summer comeback track gave a “refreshing take on drum and bass and juke music from the late ‘90s and early 2000s.”
Its bubbly and upbeat sound, coupled with catchy choreography made it a bop, spawning multiple covers as well as dance challenges on TikTok. It was also named as their fastest music video to hit 100 million views on YouTube, a few weeks after its release.

Apart from Super Shy, the group’s OMG also made it to the list, landing on the 23rd spot. Billboard’s Andrew Unterberger noted its “warm melodies, punch-drunk call-and-response lyrics” and its production allowed the NewJeans to seamlessly incorporate both the past and future.
Other tracks that made it to the list include AKMU’s Love Lee, Jay Park & Zion.T’s Candy, RIIZE’s Get a Guitar, and ZEROBASEONE’s In Bloom.
Big names in the industry like ENHYPEN, SEVENTEEN, LE SSERAFIM, IVE, and Stray Kids also made it to the list with their tracks Sweet Venom, Super, Eve, Psyche & The Bluebeard's Wife, I Am, and LALALA, respectively.
Solo releases also landed a spot on the list, including BTS’ Jimin’s Like Crazy and Jung Yong Hwa’s Your City. See the full list here.
