Riley’s four new emotions and the new voice cast for Inside Out 2 have been unveiled in a new trailer dropped by Pixar.

The new teaser for the upcoming film more glimpses of the new characters that will be joining Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust, and Sadness. Previously, the names of the other emotions were unveiled but only Anxiety's voice actor, Maya Hawke, was revealed.

In the upcoming film, the five original emotions are pushed to the side as "suppressed" and “bottled up” in favor of the raging new emotions as Riley navigates puberty and her adolescent life.

Here's a look at the new emotions viewers will meet in Inside Out 2.

Anxiety

"Hello! Oh my gosh, I’m Anxiety. Where can I put my stuff?"

The orange-hued character Anxiety, who seems to be a bundle of frayed energy, is voiced by Maya Hawke. Anxiety arrives in Riley’s mind with six suitcases, which stand in for the idea of emotional baggage that comes with navigating teenage uncertainty.

Shortly after introducing herself, Anxiety begins to apologize to the primary emotions, explaining that she and the other fresh emotions wish to provide a positive first Impression.

Envy

This character appears as a blue-green entity adorned with delicately sparkling hair and big round eyes. In her introduction, Envy sees Disgust and pines over her hair.

This portrayal effectively depicts the challenges of peer pressure and rivalry that intensify during adolescence. Golden Globe-winning actress Ayo Edebiri, known for her roles in Bottoms and The Bear, will lend her voice to Envy.

Ennui

ICYDK, ennui is an emotion described as a feeling of dissatisfaction brought by a lack of excitement. In the animated film, the emotion takes the form of a dark blue and purple character voiced by Adèle Exarchopoulos, most known for starring in the sapphic movie Blue is the Warmest Colour.

Riley has "teenage apathy" added to her personality with Ennui. When the character is introduced, she's lying on the couch, just scrolling on her phone.

Embarrassment

Embarrassment, voiced by Paul Walter Hauser, has a bright blush-pink complexion and steps into Riley's mind with an obvious terror flashing before his eyes.

This emotion looks to manifest in Riley’s mind with the awkward moments and blunders common among teenagers navigating social challenges during their adolescence.

Liza Lapira will take Mindy Kaling's role as Disgust, Tony Hale will play Bill Hader's role as Fear, Amy Poehler will return as Joy, Phyllis Smith will still play Sadness, Lewis Black is back as Anger, and Kensington Tallman will still voice Riley.

This sequel to the 2015 Oscar-winning Pixar film which is directed by Kelsey Mann and produced by Mark Nielsen, is set to release in theaters on June 14, 2024.
