Pauline Amelinckx asks pageant fans to stop bringing other beauty queens down: 'Rethink your actions'

A true queen, indeed!

Pauline Amelinckx called out those who continuously pit pageant queens against each other and "disguise it as support to their bets" on Instagram as she highlighted the importance of "supporting other women and lifting each other up."

The Miss Supranational Philippines 2023 titleholder began her post by sharing that having a support system in the beauty pageant industry has kept her and her fellow queens going through the years.

"We chose to be in this industry, for its platform, its reach, the personal growth. We allow ourselves to be authentic and vulnerable in the sea of noise that tries to tell us how and who we should be," she wrote in a post. "Navigating through all of that without losing our sense of self is challenging already, which is why genuine support and kindness are so impactful as it carries us through."

The Boholana beauty, however, noted that she will "not stand for supporting a bet (kahit sino man!) if it is by bringing other queens down."

"It's so disappointing to see this happen online, and if that's the way you show support, I can only implore you to rethink your actions and choose kindness instead. Lifting one person up doesn't need to be through the destruction of someone else," she said.

Various beauty queens and netizens seconded Pauline's thoughts in the comment section.

"Louder, " Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray commented, adding clapping emojis.

"A queen through and through," the Miss Universe Philippines organization wrote in the same thread.

MUPh 2023 second runner-up Angelique Manto, meanwhile, left a clapping emoji on her post.

Pauline was named the country’s representative to the Miss Supranational pageant in a separate awarding ceremony that took place after the MUPh coronation night on Saturday, May 13. She will vie for the country's second crown from the Miss Supra tilt on July 13 in Poland.
