Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Celeste Cortesi is bidding pageantry goodbye.

During the media conference of the GMA sitcom Walang Matigas na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis, in which she stars, Celeste said that she is "done with beauty pageants.

"Ayaw ko na sa beauty pageant, I’m done with beauty pageants. Tapos na ako roon," she noted.

She said she now just wants to focus on her acting career. “As of now, I wouldn’t do it again (pageantry). I know it’s not for me. Finally, I have something I can work at, [and] that’s acting.”

“Closed na. I think I have already [given] it all. I had such an amazing experience. I had the chance to meet wonderful people, and I think that’s enough for me,” she continued.

Celeste said that acting is "definitely something very different from what I actually do," which is pageantry and modeling.

While it's her first venture into show business, she thinks the sitcom is "the best group and cast that I could ask for.”

Celeste joins the cast of Walang Matigas na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis Season 2, starring Bong Revilla and Beauty Gonzalez, and directed by Enzo Williams and Frasco Mortiz.

She first showcased her acting skills in February with her appearance in the final episode of ABS-CBN's Darna as the "Queen of Marte."

In a previous post, the former beauty queen shared a glimpse of her acting workshop with Ana Feleo. She said: "I take any job given to me seriously, and I am really enjoying the learning process."

"It’s not every day that we’re given such amazing opportunity, kaya naman I want to make sure that trust given to us will not go to waste," she continued in another post on X.
